Manuel Aguilera

Manuel Aguilera (San Luis Potosí, México, 1960) is a novelist. He wrote and directed university theater. His play “Al filo de la sombra” (Editorial Fund for the State Council for Culture and Arts of Querétaro, 2002) received recognition with a mention in the 2001 edition of the National Dramaturgy Award “Manuel Herrera.”
In the narrative genre, he has published three novels: Cazar mariposas (University of Veracruz Publishing, 2015), which won the 2014 Latin American First Novel Award “Sergio Galindo”; La vida de los secretos (Universo de Letras, 2018); and El hombre bajo el hielo (Círculo Rojo Publishing, 2023). He holds a B.A. in Economy from the University of Veracruz and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing in Spanish from the University of Salamanca.
