Carlos Calles
Carlos was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico in 1982. He has a B.A. in English Literature from Universidad Católica de Chile and a M.A. in Humanities from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
He is the author of the following novels: El polvo que se acumula en los objetos (Acero, 2012), La ilusión del caos (Editorial edebé, 2015), La ilusión del cambio (Editorial edebé, 2017) and Escaleras (Ediciones CONARTE, 2019), which received the 2018 Nuevo León Literature Award.
He is a frequent contributor to such as media outlets as Milenio Diario, Grupo Reforma and Revista Tierra Adentro, among others. In 2018 he cofounded the Las calles a medianoche literary group. He currently teaches at Tecnológico de Monterrey and is a translator for Stanford University.
