Coral Aguirre
Coral Aguirre is the artistic alias of Angélica Claro Canteros, who was born in 1938 in Argentina and is a long time resident of Mexico. She is a graduate in French Literature, Theater and Music, all of which she stutied in Argentina, and has specializations in Classic Culture, Theater Semiology and Women’s Literature.
As a writer, she has been awarded for several plays, movie scripts, novels and essays in both Mexico and Argentina, including received the 1987 Arts Award in Drama in Argentina for La cruz del Espejo, and the 2008 National Alfonso Reyes Award in Essay for Las cartas sobre la mesa, among many others.
He titles also include the novels Los últimos rostros y Una patria aparte; the short fiction collections Los espejos del tiempo and Cuentos furiosos, and the essay Lenguaje y deseo.
