Gerardo was born in Mexico City in 1962 and is back in his hometown after a 28-year stint as a journalist and PR professional in Miami, Washington, D.C., Brussels, Madrid and Chicago. He was the editorial director for contratiempo literary magazine in Chicago, a Board Member for the international Lit&Luz Festival, and a coordinator for the Annual Poesía en Abril Poetry Festival in Chicago. As an author, he has published six volumes of short fiction, poetry and drama, and is in the process of publishing a poetry translation and his first novel. He has been included in nearly a dozen anthologies and has published articles and literary reviews in several print media outlets in Mexico, the United States, Spain, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela & Cuba.
