Javier Martínez Staines
Born in Mexico City in 1966, is the founder and director of ThinkTank New Media, a content strategy and development company launched in 2015.
He is the former editor in chief of Expansión, Mexico’s most influential business magazine, former editorial director of Grupo Expansión, and former editorial director of Televisa Publishing, a company responsible for publications for over 150 brands in Mexico and across Latin America, including Quién, Life&Style and Chilango magazines, among many others.
He has a B.A. in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana and a graduate of IPADE’s High Management program, and also stutided publishing at London’s FIPP and Glasgow. In 2005, he was named one of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders.
He is a frequent contributor on economics and business for radio and print media and a columnist for such publications and media outlets as Expansión, Poder y Negocios, Esquite, National Geographic, NatGeo Traveler, Caras, SoHo, Harper’s Bazaar, and Univision.
He is the autor of Zoo Inc: visita guiada por la jungla corporativa, published by Planeta, and the novel Por mi gran culpa, published by Penguin Random House. A father of two, he combines parenting with cooking, reading, traveling, music, mezcal, whiskey, digital ecosystems, occasional yoga and great conversations.
