Juan Carlos Calderón
Born in Mexico City in 1968, he has a B.A. in Philosophy from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and has been living in Italia since 1992, where he has become a professional photographer. He was a finalist in the international 2014 Pablo de Olavide Short Fiction contest organized by the Universidad de Sevilla. He won the 2008 Migrant Stories Award organized by Mexico’s Foreign Ministry and CONCACULTA and the 2003 Silver Medal for the Eks&Tra Literary Award issued by the Italian Government. He also won the 2000 Germano d’Oro Literary Award in Trento, Italy, and was the finalist of the 2000 Eks&Tra Award, as well as the 1994 Goethe Institut Photography Award in Trieste. In 2016 he published the short fiction collection Il cane bilingue: Racconti. In 2019 he published No te olvidaré, his first novel, in Mexico.
