Juan Pablo Pardo Guerra
Juan Pablo is an author and sociologist who writes about current issues in science, knowledge and technology. Born in Mexico City, he has a Physics degree from UNAM and Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Edinburgh. He was worked at Colegio de México and the London School of Economics, and currently teaches at University of California-San Diego. He is the author of two books: Automating Finance: Infrastructures, Engineers, and the Making of Electronic Markets (Cambridge University Press 2019) and The Quantified Scholar: How Research Evaluations Transformed the British Social Sciences (Columbia University Press 2022). He has also published in several international publications, including Economy & Society, British Journal of Sociology and Theory & Society. His work has been quoted by the BBC, The Washington Post, Nexos, The Toronto Star, El Universal, KPBS San Diego, and Times Higher Education.
