Tamar Cohen
Tamar Cohen is a Mexican writer, specialized in children’s and YA literature. She has a B.A. in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana, and an M.A. in Creative Literature from Casa Lamm.
She has been a member of children’s and YA workshops, as well as a teacher in Universidad ORT’s Masters in Literature, and a graduate of an INBA workshop on children’s authors. She is also a cofounder of a Brujas Bookstore in Mexico City.
Her titles include: Abril es mucho más que un mes, 2021; Orfanato Lachina, with illustrations by Tania Juárez, 2017 and 2021; Papás bajo la lupa, with illustrations by Sólin Sekkur, 2020; ¡Vamos a la cama!, 2019; Producciones Violeta, with illustrations by Bruno Valasse, 2018; she contributed with an article in the Por qué escribo, 2017 Hay Festival anthology; Me quiero Independizar, 2018; she contributed the short story “Planta pelícano”, to the ¡La fiesta!, 2015, anthology; El año terrible, winner of the Gran Angular 2015 Award; Aprendiendo mis valores, published by Mexico’s Museum of Memory and Tolerance, 2015; Papás bajo la lupa, illustrated by Santiago Solís, 2009 y 2014; Cinco modos para deshacerme de mi hermanito, illustrated by Valeria Gallo, 2013; and the short stories “Mi Valentín” and “Calcetas de franela”, part of the ¡Madres! cuentos (y precauciones) de maternidad, anthology, 2011.
