Sophie Goldberg
Born in Mexico City, Sophie Goldberg is the daughter of Sephardic immigrants from Turkey and Bulgaria. She holds a B.A. in Communications from Universidad Anáhuac and a certification in Journalism from the University of Texas-Austin. She has published a poetry collection and a history of the Sephardic immigration to Mexico. In 2015, and after a 5-year research, she published Moons of Istanbul, which has been a best seller in Mexico and has been translated into English, Serbian and Turkish. In 2020 she published her second historical novel, The Garden by the Sea, a history of the migration of her father’s family from Bulgaria to Mexico in the midst of WWII. She is currently in the process of publishing her third novel.
